11/15/24 – On Saturday November 16th, the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls presents,
“Conversations with the Past, an afternoon with Rachel Carson at 2pm at the Queensbury
Activity Center at 742 Bay Road. Claire Nolan will bring to life Rachel Carson, the pioneering
environmentalist who published the groundbreaking book “Silent Spring” sixty-two years ago.
This event is a collaboration between the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society and the
Chapman Museum. The program is free but requires a reservation. Space is limited. To

11/16/24 – The Moreau Community Center will hold its 43rd annual Holiday Bazaar Friday,
November 15th from 4 to 8pm; and Saturday the 16th from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Featuring
over 25 tables of handmade gifts, crafts, and local vendors. Guests can enjoy a Friday
evening dinner with hot dogs, mac salad, and homemade mac & cheese; and Saturday will
offer breakfast specials and soup and sandwiches for lunch. Refreshments will also be

11/17/24 – On Sunday November 17th, the Hartford Community Band will present its annual
Holiday Community Concert and basket party on Sunday, November 17th at the Hartford Fire

11/18/24 – On Tuesday November 19th, the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls will present
local author and reporter Maury Thompson as he presents a Zoom Presentation, “Black
Baseball Players in the Adirondack Region in the 19th Century” at 7pm. Black baseball
players were banned from the major leagues in the 19th century but were welcome in the
Adirondack region. Maury will look at traveling baseball teams and hotel worker teams that
played in the region, including Glens Falls and in Washington County, and local athletes that
crossed the color barrier. This program is free but requires registration. To register visit the

historian Tisha Dolton as she presents, “Columbia’s Daughters: The Political Equality Clubs

Glens Falls presents, “Glen Street, 1880s.” This exhibit features photographs taken by
Seneca Ray Stoddard from the heart of Glens Falls. Local businesses, Crandall Block, the
original Glens Falls Insurance Company building, the Rockwell House, the fire of 1884, and a

12/2/24 – On Wednesday December 4th, Warren County Office of Emergency Services and
the National Weather Service (NWS) will hold a free weather spotter training session from 6
to 8pm at Warren County Sheriff’s Office Training Room on Route 9 in Queensbury that will
help expand the local network of weather spotters, who provide details about conditions
around the county during notable weather events to the National Weather Service. For more

Family Craft Program, “Stencil Ornaments” from 4 to 5pm. Participants will make multiple

Budget Coaching Program to community residents. The one-on-one sessions are available to
individuals and families who want to improve their financial literacy, set goals, create a
